Tezos activates its 12th upgrade through the voting and approval of the Tezos community. Furthermore, the main purpose of this upgrade is to bring many new and special features. Additionally, the 12th upgrade reduces the possibility of bug attacks and risks in smart contracts. Furthermore, the 12th protocol upgradation is collectively developed by Nomadic Labs, Marigold, Trilitech, and others.
In this very regard, it is Lima that introduces certain aspects. In other words, the pipelining validation project is continued and enhanced. The first would be the quickening of operations and blocks to create a higher Layer 1 on Tezos. However, this has also been undertaken to lessen the overall block time to 15 seconds.
There is also the issue of the consensus keys, which happens to be an asked-for feature that allows bakers to alter their key for the signing of blocks, together with consensus operations, keeping the baker’s address intact.
In this regard, ticket ownership updates are part and parcel of transaction receipts. However, this assists the indexers in having control over tickets. Furthermore, the Lima upgrade enables depreciation of the creation, the transfer, and the storage of the zero-amount tickets, thus reducing the risk of bugs in smart contracts.
There is also the issue of the Lima fixes that eventually cropped up with two major problem areas. It was in context with the movement from Jakarta to Kathmandu on the permanent Ghostnet test network. In the present scenario, however, it is suggested to upgrade to Octez v 15.1.
