Shiba Inu enters 2022 with its pockets filled with expectations from followers, as the coin got the limelight just in time before the year-end. An on-demand Twitter session conducted yesterday with Queenie, a moderator from Shiba Inu’s Discord channel, has spilled just enough beans to keep the coin near the headlines for some more time. The Shiba moderator slightly touched upon a big surprise that would drop in 2022. However, there is no specific date announced, as it is apparently not how they roll in Shiba Inu.
The long-anticipated Shibarium will come into operation in 2022, according to Queenie. It will not be an own blockchain of Shiba Inu but a layer two solution that runs on the existing Ethereum blockchain. This layer two will reportedly cut the gas fees and speed up the transactions. Queenie has also mentioned that the Shiba team is striving to make the second as ‘humanly’ and accessible as possible. This announcement is a reflection of the high gas fees the users incur as Shiba Inu runs on top of the Ethereum blockchain.
There has also been some information on Shiba Inu’s plan to use $BONE as the native token on Shibarium. $BONE is currently used for governance on ShibaSwap, a peer-to-peer exchange platform. The developers of Shibarium have plans to mine BONE tokens until 2024. However, like Dogecoin, $BONE will come with mining limits to keep value balanced.
The gaming ideas for Shibarium will be based on Shiboshis, the non-fungible token collection. It comes in two versions; the mobile and the blockchain version. The former will be built just like any mobile platform where in-app purchases can be made with Satoshis. This design is reported to also be compatible with PCs. The latter is a blockchain-based design where the users can play games and earn cryptocurrency pips which can be cashed out after reaching the minimum withdrawal limit.
The session inevitably reached Shiba Inu’s self-styled rivalry with Dogecoin. To answer this, Queenie, the moderator, said that it is ‘healthy’ and mostly about morale-boosting ‘banters’ for SHIB’s developers. It is worth noting that the ‘Dogecoin Killer’ managed to surpass its adversary momentarily a couple of months ago. Furthermore, the rivalry is about to get serious as most of the predictions for Shiba Inu in 2022 seem positive about its trading value.
It is good to see the positive changes Shiba is trying to bring to its infrastructure. But more than the enhancements, the Shiba Inu community is excited about the ‘Big Surprise’ Queenie hinted at. So, the wait is on to see how Shiba Inu is going to take on 2022.
