Mocaverse, an NFT collection of 8,888 unique beings that have been in membership with Animoca Brands, announced that it entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with SYMBIOGENESIS, an NFT collectible art project of Square Enix to help users onboard from Web2 to Web3.
SYMBIOGENESIS is the brainchild of Square Enix, a leading entertainment and video game publisher in Japan. The publisher is renowned for games such as Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Dragon Quest, which sold over 85 million copies worldwide.
The gaming industry giant launched a new entertainment concept featuring collectible art and browser-oriented content, which spans over 10,000 NFTs in June 2024, SYMBIOGENESIS.
Mocaverse, on the other hand, is a flagship project of Amioca Brands that acts as the web-on-ramp for consumers to access the most immersive gaming experiences and rewards with a single login. This partnership announcement is in conjunction with an agreement between SYMBIOGENESIS and Amioca Brands, Japan division, earlier this year to strengthen the marketing efforts of the Square Enix-owned brand.

SYMBIOGENESIS and Moca Network
To speed up user onboarding, SYMBIOGENESIS will join the Moca Network and use Mocaverse’s on-chain digital identity and the Real Points, which are the loyalty points of Moca ID holders. SYMBIOGENESIS players can now access the Web3 games running on the Moca Network, which has over 540 games. Moca ID currently has 1.8 million active users who will now be able to access both SYMBIOGENESIS and browser-based content.
Kenneth Shek, project lead of Mocaverse, quoted, “Mocaverse’s partnership with SYMBIOGENESIS represents an exciting opportunity to simplify the path to Web3 for a crypto-curious audience. We are excited to work together in a collective effort to onboard consumers and gamers to the exciting opportunities of Web3.”
Through this partnership, users who are curious about crypto will more readily be able to become members of the Web3 community and have access to hundreds of apps through familiar Web2 social logins without the need to sign seed phrases and transactions over gas fees.
Naoyuki Tamate, who works as a director at Square Enix on the SYMBIOGENESIS project, stated, “We are thrilled to start our collaborative partnership with Mocaverse. Together, we will leverage our respective strengths to onboard users to the next iteration of the Internet.”
