TE-FOOD is the most extensive food-to-table traceability system in the world. The food traceability solution is being used by almost 6000 companies that manage more than 400,000 transactions and reach almost 30 million people. The system has been developed to improve food safety, support fair trade, and establish trust between supply chain companies and consumers in the emerging markets. In 2018, TE-FOOD partnered with Laurel as the latter will implement the traceability system in Hungary for the benefit of retail companies, and Laurel also became the distribution partner of TE-FOOD.
The latest buzz is that Hortobagy Angus (the corporate brand for Hungarian Angus farms) has decided to implement the blockchain-based traceability solution that has been developed by TE-FOOD. The decision was taken under the guidance of Laurel.

Several modules can be used to track the operations through the web browser or mobile app. The various modules help one manage the livestock, register the Vet checks, and receive transports, sending transports to the slaughterhouse.
The mobile app version is very useful for the farmers as it helps them register information quickly and directly on their mobile phones and even store them using the blockchain as a traceability ledger. The solution is essential for the consumers today because when they scan the QR code, they will be able to see all the public data related to feeding, movement about the cattle from which the meat originated. There are enough reasons for implementing the TE-FOOD as the brand can be easily differentiated from the competition. Consumers always look for quality products, and transparency is an added advantage for people who are fond of premium products. The TE-FOOD mobile app is also useful for the farmers as data management becomes easy, and fewer errors are spotted.
