The Big Tech firm, Google, which had just released a quantum chip last night, had officially released its latest version of the large model Gemini 2.0 series- Gemini 2.0 Flash. Google claimed that this is their most powerful artificial intelligence model to date, “designed for the era of intelligent agents,” and also introduced multiple intelligent agent applications (AI Agent).
Google’s Gemini 2.0 Flash Launched!
In its official blog, Google wrote, “Also starting today, Gemini users globally can access a chat optimized version of 2.0 Flash experimental by selecting it in the model drop-down on desktop and mobile web and it will be available in the Gemini mobile app soon. With this new model, users can experience an even more helpful Gemini assistant.
Early next year, we’ll expand Gemini 2.0 to more Google products.”
For the Gemini 2.0 model, Google said it would first open it to developers and trusted testers and integrate it into the product. Gemini 2.0 is built on Google’s custom hardware, the sixth-generation TPU Trillium. Google said that TPU provides 100% computing power support for Gemini 2.0 training and reasoning.
The latest version of Gemini, not just supports multimodal inputs like images, video and audio, but 2.0 Flash now supports multimodal output like natively generated images mixed with text and steerable text-to-speech (TTS) multilingual audio. It can also natively call tools like Google Search, code execution and third-party user-defined functions.
OpenAI ChatGPT Faces Outage
Meanwhile, yesterday OpenAI’s ChatGPT faced an outage, which was also confirmed by the company as it ensured a quick recovery. OpenAI wrote on X, “We’re experiencing an outage right now. We have identified the issue and are working to roll out a fix. Sorry and we’ll keep you updated!”
