Musk’s team made the official announcement, “We are launching Grok 3 today, starting with Premium+ users on X, who will be the first group to gain access. Be sure to update your X app to experience all the new capabilities.”
In addition to Grok 3, Musk introduced Super Grok, a separate subscription service made for loyal fans eager for the most advanced features and early access to upcoming tools. xAI engineers also revealed that the Grok voice assistant (currently in development), will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
At the Grok 3 launch conference, Musk and his xAI team highlighted the introduction of DeepSearch, an intelligent search engine designed to streamline problem-solving. This tool, described as an early version of more advanced AI capabilities, will assist users with everything from coding to answering everyday questions. The engineers clarified that while the voice mode of Grok 3 is still in testing and may be unstable for now, it will be available in about a week.
In further announcements, xAI engineers introduced the broad agent tools of DeepSearch, which are aimed at empowering engineers, researchers, scientists, and everyday users to tackle complex tasks. They also emphasized that Grok 3 has advanced reasoning abilities similar to DeepSeek R1 and OpenAI’s O3 Mini.
According to data presented during the press conference, Grok 3 surpassed competitors like OpenAI’s GPT-4, Claude 3.5, DeepSeek V3, and Gemini 2 Pro in key benchmarks related to math, science, and programming. Musk shared that Grok 3’s training was ten times more extensive than its predecessor, Grok 2.
In a separate development, Musk confirmed on X that xAI is launching an AI game studio with the mission to “Make games great again.”
