Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder of Binance and a prominent figure in the crypto industry, has announced that he will donate all tokens he receives to individuals who lost money in the $TST and $BROCCOLI tokens.
CZ To donate To $TST and $BROCCOLI victims
CZ previously shared his address to donate 150 BNB (approximately $100,000 USD) to a university student (EnHeng) who contributed $50,000 of his own funds to assist victims of the $Libra incident. However, things took an unexpected turn when CZ’s address began receiving more BNB than he had initially donated.
In a statement to the community, CZ clarified, “I won’t keep a penny of it. I’ll donate it, most likely to those who suffered losses from TST or some of the Broccoli tokens.” He also warned crypto users that he does not endorse any of these tokens.
CZ’s Philanthropic Initiatives
The incident began when a user named EnHeng donated $50,000 to help victims of the $Libra token scam, also referred to as the ‘Argentine President’s Rug currency.’ EnHeng posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he would “accept donations through the BSC address to send sponsorship for a charity dinner, bringing warmth and support to everyone,” with a special focus on helping college students.
In response to EnHeng’s generous act, CZ commented, “Sent 150 BNB. Good luck and keep up the good work!”
Although CZ has been known for his philanthropic efforts, he too recently fell victim to a cryptocurrency scam when a person known as the “$Broccoli Whale” exploited his charitable initiative, ultimately profiting $26 million from it.
