Coinbase announced a partnership with WooCommerce, allowing customers to invest in the cryptocurrency market, with the goal of integrating the next 100 million consumers into the crypto economy.
WooCommerce is popularly known for its open-source e-commerce platform worldwide, which powers 25% of the top million online stores. It also enables numerous businesses to buy, sell, and manage orders online. WooCommerce, which is built on WordPress, offers various customization options. Powered by Coinbase Commerce, its merchants can also accept cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, DAI, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, USD Coin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin.
Dave Lockie, a web3 lead at Automattic, said that they were pleased to introduce Coinbase Commerce to the WooCommerce platform as a crypto payment processing partner. Both of them share common values regarding the importance of flexibility and freedom for users to buy and sell online. In essence, the integration of Coinbase Commerce would provide merchants with fully-developed payment acceptance and management features. They were waiting to see what would happen when one of the world’s largest and most trustworthy cryptocurrency companies became widely accessible to WooCommerce merchants globally.
Matt Watts from Coinbase Business Development stated that they always look for new ways to get more people involved in the crypto economy. However, WooCommerce had already started allowing merchants across the world to accept online payments, and now they would accept crypto payments. With the assistance of WooCommerce, the team looks forward to discovering other ways to assist small businesses and customers in adopting cryptocurrency.
Coinbase Commerce enables merchants worldwide to accept cryptocurrency payments and even be compensated in cryptocurrency. In addition, they have access to powerful business analysis and crypto integration technologies. They currently support a variety of businesses, from the Chicago Bulls to Google Cloud. According to a report conducted by Deloitte, almost 75% of online merchants planned to accept cryptocurrencies within a year, and this collaboration would certainly make this process smoother.
