Binance, a well-known cryptocurrency exchange, has recently announced major changes to its Monitoring Tag system, effective from today, March 4, 2025. There had been no defined timeline for Monitoring Tags previously but with this update, the inclusion frequency for the tags will shift to a monthly basis, with new tokens added in the first week of every month.

The main aim of these changes is to improve risk awareness and maintain transparency for users trading high-volatility tokens.
What is the Monitoring Tag?
Monitoring Tag is a classification process used by the exchange to flag tokens that exhibit a high volatility and risk compared to other listed cryptocurrencies. These tokens once classified are closely monitored and their status is subject to periodic reviews.
With the recent change, the users trading tokens with this tag will have to pass a test every 90 days on Binance Spot or Margin platforms to ensure the trader understands the risk associated with the token.

As a part of this update and since it is the first week of a new month, Binance has include the folloiwng 10 token in the Monitoring Tag List:

Quarterly Review System
While the new additions will be monthly, Binance will be evaluating the removal of Monitoring Tags and Seed Tags on a quarterly basis. The review considers factors such as development activity, trading volume, network stability, and ethical conduct.
Risk Awareness Measures
As stated above, the user will have to pass a test every 90 days and accept Binance’s Terms of Use. Risk warning banners will also be displayed on trading pages for these tokens to ensure that the users are fully informed and aware of the risks associated with these tokens.
Why This Matters?
With this initiative, Binance is making an effort to promote a secure and transparent trading environment for the users. By frequently updating the Monitoring Tag List, Binance wants to help users navigate through high-risk assets responsibly while supporting the long-term growth of the crypto ecosystem.
