Lancashire Cricket club claimed that it is the UK’s first organization to activate blockchain-based mobile tickets for all international and domestic matches at Emirates Old Trafford in 2020. As per the recent report, the Lancashire Cricket club had associated with TIXnGO, the blockchain ticketing provider.
Further, the club expressed that the new blockchain tickets are unique, traceable to the purchaser and it is not possible to counterfeit. Also, this system contains a new facility that simplifies the process of reselling or transferring the tickets.
ELCA introduced the club’s teaming up with the blockchain mobile ticketing platform TIXnGO. It is the parent organization of the cloud-based solution SecuTix, which was the club’s ticketing service provider back in April 2019. This move had followed a successful trial of blockchain technology during the 2019 season.

Jonathon Nuttall, Lancashire’s head of ticketing and digital systems, stated that he was delighted that the club had become the first organization to use the latest blockchain secure mobile tickets technology; also, developing and introducing several more enhancements to their ticketing operations at Emirates Old Trafford.
In March 2018, when Lancashire’s move to SecuTix was announced, it mainly focused on making sure that not only its ticketing system is capable of optimizing the growth in mobile usability and transactions, but also maintaining a customer-centered offering for its customers.
Further, the resale platform, which was launched during summer 2019, had been developed jointly along with SecuTix, which offers its clients a simple, user-friendly system when they wanted to sell unwanted tickets throughout the season.
