Hedera Hashgraph’s Mainnet Goes Live, To Support 10,000 Transactions/Second

After completing its testing-phase, Hedera Hashgraph has now announced access to its mainnet beta open. In other words, developers across the world can open an account on this distributed ledger platform and start developing decentralized applications (dApps) for meeting different business requirements. So that you know, many app developers have already built dApps on the platform during its testing phase and now the Hashgraph has been launched in a fully-fledged version with 26 dApps to its account.

Apps and Transaction Speed

Currently, the Hashgraph is offering dApps under three different categories: smart contracts, file service, and cryptocurrency. The real advantage of shifting to mainnet is the transaction speed which is now pegged at 10,000 transactions/second compared to the testing phase where 10 transactions/second were allowed. The company is aiming to rev-up the transaction speed throughout this year and also likely to introduce “Hedera Consensus Service” later in 2019.

Out of a total 26 dApps available on the platform, some of the prominent ones include AdProv, Binsignia, EVEC, HEX, Intellectual Property Vault, MyHbarWallet, Power Transition, Zabo, and Tune.fm.

In August 2019, Tata Communications and IBM joined the Hedera Governing Council. The council has around 39 multinational entities operating in a range of business sectors from telecommunication to supply chain and retail to financial technology. This diversified portfolio is one of the strengths of the council and bodes well for its future operations and sustainability.
