The sudden price uptick coincides with the anticipation surrounding HBO’s new documentary, “Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery,” which claims to reveal the identity of Bitcoin’s father, Satoshi Nakamoto.
The documentary claims to uncover Satoshi Nakamoto’s mysterious identity. The director, Cullen Hoback, took to X (formerly Twitter) to promote his film but has yet to reveal his identity. The film will be released on Max, a streaming platform, on October 8th.

Who is Len Sassaman?
American cryptographer Len Sassaman was a computer science child prodigy. At only 18, he joined the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), which developed the foundations for the modern Internet. Lan relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1999, establishing himself as a well-known figure.
Sassaman, who gave his life to fighting for digital privacy, later became a mentee of distinguished cryptographers David Chaum and Bart Preneel. Chaum invented blockchain technology, so it might not be surprising if Sassaman is revealed to be Satoshi Nakamoto himself.
Unfortunately, Len Sassaman died by suicide in 2011, making it impossible for him to self-identify. Meredith L. Patterson, his surviving wife, an American technologist and science fiction writer, believes Sassaman is not Satoshi Nakamoto.
Around 34% of Polymarket voters hint that the documentary would reveal Len Sassaman. In comparison, over 50% of voters believe Satoshi Nakamoto could be a group of cryptographers and is not one person alone.
