Chainlink goes live on Base

The Base has announced that Chainlink is now available for developers who are exploring ways to construct their decentralized applications on the platform. Making this development more interesting is the fact that Base will also participate in the Chainlink SCALE program. The participation will enable Base to lower the cost and grant access to developers to critical services of data and Oracle.

Needless to say, the community has expressed satisfaction with members saying that Chainlink is the future. Meaning they see the rise of the network’s ecosystem and are bullish about its future prospects.

While the announcement dates back to the early days of March 2023, it holds validity following the recent activity, which now enables developers to come up with their dApps efficiently. Developers, specifically speaking, now have access to Web3 and Pice Feed services of Chainlink.

The integration is also crucial as it grants access to the SCALE program. The objective of the participation is to ensure that cost remains on the lower side for developers. A certain portion of the operational cost is basically covered by Base, which also brings down the gas costs that Chainlink nodes incur. The overall aim of the SCALE program is to accelerate the growth of L2 and blockchain ecosystems.

It focuses on making the Oracle services accessible to developers at a much more economical cost for the highest possible quality. An example of the operating costs that will be covered by Base is transaction gas fees. However, it will be only for a particular period of time.

Depending on how much the projects mature, their operating costs will begin getting covered by the user fees of dApps themselves.

Jesse Pollak, Base Lead, has expressed their excitement about the collaboration between Base and Chainlink, further highlighting that the SCALE program will help them serve critical data and Oracle services to developers.

Niki Ariyasinghe, the Global Head at Chainlink Labs for Blockchain Partnerships, has also released a statement. They have said that they are thrilled to support the integration and work with Base on the SCALE program to better support the growth of the ecosystem and adoption of the L2 network. Niki has expressed confidence that Base is becoming an attractive environment for building Web3 dApps that are scalable and secure.

The integration between Base and Chainlink for developers is expected to become the founding ground to support the building of applications that are high-performing, fully featured, and support secure mechanisms.

Chainlink is the Web3 solution platform carrying the reputation of the leading decentralized Oracle network. It has so far enabled transactions worth millions of dollars in insurance, DeFi, and gaming, among many other sectors.
